Pandit Bivash Sengupta
Pandit Bivash Sengupta is a distinguished tabla artist and educator with over two decades of experience in teaching and performance, both in India and internationally. Trained under legendary gurus including Padma Bhushan Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh and later Pandit Suresh Talwalkar, he brings a deep and nuanced understanding of Indian classical rhythm to his students.
Bivash has served as Head of Music at several prestigious schools in India and has represented the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) as a teacher and performer in Guyana and Mauritius. He has conducted workshops and performed across the globe—including in France, Germany, Switzerland, the U.S., and the Caribbean—and has been featured in media such as Radio France and ITV New York.
A gold medalist from Pracheen Kala Kendra and a graded artist with All India Radio and Doordarshan, he has accompanied renowned artists like Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, Smt. Vani Jayram, and Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar. His commitment to mentoring young musicians is rooted in a passion for preserving and sharing the richness of India’s classical music traditions.
