Vidushi Ruchira Panda
Vidushi Ruchira Panda is a renowned Hindustani classical vocalist and composer, widely recognised as the foremost exponent of the Kotali Gharana. Her music reflects a rare blend of intellectual depth and emotive expression, rooted in over two decades of rigorous training under the legendary Pandit Manas Chakraborty, a direct disciple and son of Sangeetacharya Tarapada Chakraborty.
Gifted with a rich, expressive voice and a command over complex forms, Ruchira’s repertoire includes Khayal, Thumri, Tappa, Tap-Khayal, Nirguni Bhajans, and various semi-classical forms such as Jhoola, Chaiti, Kajri, and more. She has performed at major festivals and cultural venues across India and internationally, captivating audiences with her powerful yet nuanced presentations.
In addition to her career as a performer, she is deeply committed to music education and cultural outreach. She is the founder of PARAMPARIK, an organisation dedicated to preserving Indian classical music and supporting education in rural communities. Through her teaching, performances, and cultural initiatives, she continues to inspire new generations of listeners and learners.
A senior fellow of the Ministry of Culture and a graded AIR artist, Vidushi Ruchira Panda brings both legacy and innovation to every stage she graces.
